New Orleans, Louisiana
October 7-11, 2022

Tour Overview
Join us for this unique four-night and five-day cultural experience. Build community with a fantastic group of individuals who are open to growth through uncomfortable conversations around race and culture. This tour provides the perfect balance of intentional hands-on learning and time to explore the city on your own accord.

New Orleans is known for its food, fun, jazz, and it's tenacious spirit. Often overlooked is the amazing cultural experience that the Crescent City offers, unlike anywhere else in the United States of America.

Stroll down the French Quarter and experience the sights, sounds, and tastes the city has to offer. Enjoy Cajun and Creole food, which gets its roots from and Spanish settlers and enslaved Africans.

Take a boat ride through the mangrove swamp to learn about the important ecosystem that protects Louisiana's coastline from hurricane damage but also was used as a tool to entrap slaves onto plantations.
Find cultural perspective under the shade of centuries-old oak trees at Whitney Plantation. Dig into the history of slavery and discover how the structures of slavery are to this day rooted in our society, much like the trees you stand beneath.

Discover the importance of unity as you learn about Mardi Gras Indians. Create your own piece of art inspired by traditions dating back to the 1800s when Native Americans helped shield runaway slaves.
