She holds a Doctor of Social Work from Capella University and is a published scholar, curriculum contributor, and co-author of Sistah Hooded: Stories of Strength and Resilience on the Doctoral Journey. Her research and training initiatives have focused on educating human service professionals who work with parents living with cognitive disabilities—an area she continues to champion through her work with TASP (The Association for Successful Parenting) and the Council on Social Work Education’s Council on Disability and Persons with Disabilities. Dr. Clockston is a former President of NASW Colorado and has served in leadership roles across numerous national and local organizations.
